Camp Description
In sports, there was a time when coaching, management, and decision-making came down to instinct, experience and tradition. Over the last 20 years, statistical analysis has become the new normal for sports teams. This summer, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in sports analytics, become a truly knowledgeable sports fan, and maybe launch a career in the world of sports one day! The hit movie Moneyball opened the eyes to the world of sports statistics and challenged everyone on how to simply think differently. Now middle and high school students are learning how to dissect video footage to analyze their favorite sports teams. Develop public speaking, writing, recording and editing skills. Now is your opportunity to learn more about how coaches and general managers of sports teams analyze their teams and players. During this camp, you will have the opportunity to select from a varied sports lineup [to include NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL], put together a portfolio, and repurpose into a final cut for game analysis or highlights reel to be shared with friends and family.
